From 23rd March all churches had to remain closed due to the coronavirus. The Prime Minister announced on Monday 23rd June that places of worship may re-open from 4th July, providing certain conditions are met and government guidance is followed.
On Saturday 31st October the Prime Minister announced that churches have to close from midnight 4th November until 2nd December, except for private prayer. During this second lock down, churches can remain open for individual prayer, which is defined as a person or household entering the venue to pray on their own and not as part of a group, led prayer or communal act. If you arrive at the same time as someone from another household, please wait to enter until the church is vacated.
Following the PM's announcement of a national lock down on 4th January, the government did not suspend public worship and services continued in all four churches in the Benefice. The church opening hours for private prayer remain unaltered.
Notification was received from the Director of Public Health for Buckinghamshire Council and from the diocese that communal worship should not continue during lockdown and so on 20th January the decision was made that all Church services will be suspended until further notice. Church buildings may still open for private prayer.
The churches in the Benefice are open as follows:-
