Lent Courses 2010


                                    LIVING FAITH

                                 Five Bible studies from St. John’s gospel
               to explore the Living Faith vision for Oxford Diocese

 

The following Discussion Groups will be held:-
 
 
Stoke Hammond on Tuesday afternoon:

February 23rd, March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd

Discussion group at the Methodist Church, in the afternoon at 2.15pm for 2.30pm until 3.30pm.

Great Brickhill on Thursday afternoon:

Simple lunch at 12.30pm followed by discussion group at 2pm at different venues each week (see below). Come to either, or both!
No charge for lunch—donations for a chosen charity are welcome.

March 4th:  Roxburgh House, Ivy Lane

March 11th:  Old Farm, Ivy Lane

March 18th:  Church Close, Church Lane

March 25th:  Green Farm, Stoke Lane

The  readings listed below will be used as the basis for discusssion at the Lent Groups:-

Week  1:     Sunday 21st February     Sustaining the Sacred Centre   (John 1: 1 - 14)

Week  2:     Sunday 28th February     Making Discipes   (John 1: 29 - 51)

Week  3:     Sunday 7th March     Making a Difference in Society   (John 13: 1 - 17)

Week  4:     Sunday 14th March     Creating Vibrant Christian Communities   (John 15: 1 - 26)

Week  5:     Sunday 21st March     Shaping Confident Collaborative Leadership   (John 21: 1 - 22)

N.B.     The readings and theme for the Lent Groups will be used in the Services on the Sunday prior to the Lent Group

Donations from the Lent Lunches 

Donations received from the Lent Lunches held in Great Brickhill totalled £222, half of which was sent to Lee Abbey in Lynton, North Devon, and half to the Society of Mary & Martha also in Devon.
